i have a new 982vs 22mag and was shooting it the other day and about every 4or5th round the bolt wouldnt eject the spent case so i took out the clip closed the bolt and reopened it and the case came out anyone else having this problem and how do i fix it

Re: marlin 982vs

make sure there's no gunk built up under the extractor spring clip. this spring clip can be removed pretty easily but it also frees up the firing pin so take care not to loose it, or the little spring that is behind it inside the bolt. I personally can't see how the clip had anything to do with the round not ejecting. have you altered your mags at all? i have 2 that i cut down from 7 rnd to 4-5 round to sit flush with bottom of rifle. these two actually feed BETTER than my stock mags...probably due to less spring tension. bear in mind, i have no trouble with either mag, BUT the stock ones are a little stiffer and the shorty's are smooth like butter.

well took my gun to a gunsmith and he found out the clips were to blame the little point at the front of the clip was the problem he rounded it down a little bit shot 3 full clips and all came out of the chamber no problem
