Hey all, just wanted to share my little incident today.
I got home from school and saw a woodchuck scramble into a stack of firewood. Figured since he knew where he was going, he'd been going there for a while and would be out soon, so I made a little hide in the shadow of our barn quick, got my Marlin, packed the mag full of Federal hollow points, and waited. Kept glassing the woodpile, and after about fifteen minutes, he popped his head out and scanned. I wanted to take him there, but my scope had been sighted in at 200 yards, and I just finished doping (86 clicks takes a long time, especially when you're trying to be quiet), so I didn't want to risk a miss. Finally, he got up to look around, and I aimed center mass and squeezed.
The hollow point went right where I put it, clear into the chest cavity. Rolled him from sitting on his &^% onto his head and his lights went out. I was pretty impressed, this was at about 65-70 yards and with most chucks I get the semi-auto Mossberg .22 out because there's a good chance of needing a follow-up to make a quick kill before he runs down his hole. Starting to love this little gun. I thought the thing wasn't that big, but then I picked it up, and set it by my gun. Bigger than I thought, haha.
Ahhh, I'm supposed to be asleep in... two hours ago. Have a good one all, happy shooting.
