I have the XL7 in 270 win and 30-06. Both are great guns. the triggers are nice, like an accutrigger. Barrel nut like a savage 110 and interchangeable with savage barrels, just need to machine the shank .010" for headspace. The only cheap thing like most budget rifle is the stock and trigger guard. These rifle as stock shoot east MOA with factory Federal ammo.
The barrels are not full floated they have pressure points.Hope this helps.

If you are just looking for an inexpensive rifle, I prefer a Howa or new Weatherby Vanguard for a lot of reasons...they both make a Youth Model.
