Shot my Mask HD yesterday for the first time with my S&W Victory pistol. Manual said break in takes about 15-25 rounds. I put about 35 rounds through it. While shooting I’d get a couple real quiet shots then a loud shot. Then 1 or 2 more quiet and then another loud shot. I’m guessing I just need to put more through it u til optimal suppression. Thought? I also used Remington Thunderbolt Ammo.

The catch with a semi auto blowback pistol is you need the hotter ammo to cycle the action, with subs it may not cycle as reliably, so the fix is to keep barrel length down to prevent the bullet from going supersonic while still keeping enough pressure to cycle 100%.

Try CCI standard velocity. I’ve had zero malfunctions with it in a Mark IV 22/45 lite and it stays subsonic. I also run it in a 16” TC/R 22 and every once in a while the bullet will break the sound barrier but for the most part stays subsonic as well and cycles flawlessly. I use my Mask HD on these firearms 100% of the time. It is a dirty round though.... but I enjoy cleaning guns/suppressors, drinking beer, and listening to jimmy page shred the guitar..... I shoulda been born in the 60’s and not the 90’s surrounded by snowflakes

I think I have some cci. Got federal, Winchester, and I think another one. The thunderbolts shot dirty too. I’ll give them a try. I’ll have to shoot it on my M&p 15-22 and see what happens there as well. Thanks for the help fellas. And don’t feel bad Henry I was born in ‘81.

I had the exact same thing happen my first time out with my SiCo Sparrow shooting Federal Bulk pack on a Walther P22 Target! The Target model has a 5" barrel and the Federal is listed as 1260fps from a 16" barrel. The velocity was basically hovering right near the transonic speed (~1080fps). Some would be subsonic with others supersonic! It really freaked me out until I figured out what was occurring.

As other have stated CCI Standard Velocity (1070fps) will be subsonic in your 6.75" barrel and still cycle your action.

Another vote for CCI Standard. Thunderbolt's velocity spread is wide.

Stopped by the store last night and the lowest velocity they had on the shelf was Winchester 40gr. 1150fps. I’ll try some of these next time I shoot. Illl still look for cci
