I've recently received some of what I would call good binoculars. Before in the past I've used my grandpa's old bushnell or Nikons from the 80s or 90s. But I picked up a set of bx-1 Yosemite 10x30, I know they're leupold low end, and very recently a set of Swarovski slc 8x30.
I'm looking at getting another set of binoculars, but don't want to break the bank. I got the swaros at a good price in my opinion. The best test I've done was reading a piece of printed paper/ calendar at about 50 feet, and other than just barely due to being bigger the Swaros are much better, but the extra magnification edges them out to read, not detail though
So my question is, has anyone had the mavens and compared them to an upper tier side by side, or even the bushnell forge line?

The Birder guys love them, I believe they are flourite lenses and they get good reviews on the bird forums, perhaps the only more discerning group of people than those here are on the hide when it comes to glass. Meopta is another great option(also flourite). I just ordered the B1 Plus in 15x56 and I have the B1 plus in 8x32 which are outstanding. Maven is still unknown to me, but I have a the RS2 scope from them on the way in 2.5-10x38, I'm really interested to see how it compares to the Vortex Razor LH in 1.5-8x32 I already have. Not enough of these lightweight hunting scopes around anymore so it'll be nice if it proves to be a good option.

That's what I've heard, they don't have the field flattening like Swarovski does in swarovision, but clarity is there. I'm new to all of this but do know that clarity>magnification.
What do you have that you're able to compare the 8x32 or even the new 10x against for reference?
Keep me posted with what goes on with your glass.

Nothing really personally, although I am in the industry so I get to see a lot of glass in a lot of places. Closest I have first hand is that I have compared my S2 spotters against Swaros and they compare very well. I got the notion to order the 15x B1 Plus right after last week, we were spotting with 15x Swaro SLC's and my buddy pulled up the new 10x Meopta Rangefinding binos. I stacked one on the top of the other watching trace out to 1380. Any range finding binos is typically at a disadvantage due to the required tint on the lenses. Yes, the SLC's were better than the rangefinding binos, but man, It was much closer than I ever expected. I immediately figured i would give the 15x B1's a try as I know they will outperform the 10X Ranging Binos. Should be here this week.

Awesome, that sounds like a great comparison the b1 15x to the swaro slc, and yeah, rf do get knocked down in glass quality for the added versatility, I'm looking at mavens rf.1 due to the price, and I figure I'll always keep a separate rf from looking glass.
As stated I have the 8x30 slc, that are better to use than the 10x30 bx-1 but the focus is a bit more finicky and I'll be carrying them both until I can say for sure what ones I want with more. 1000 is a lot to me for glass, scope, spotter or bino. The few I have over 500 into were hard, but worth it
