Hello All,

I'm looking at picking up a new ffp mil reticle scope for a hunting rifle. The main characteristics I'm looking for is a scope that tracks and has a reticle that usable through the full magnification range.

The Tract and Maven are both made by LOW. The Tract has a locking elevation turret and it's a couple of oz heavier. For anyone that's used both, which one would you pick?

Thanks.

Ignore the "they are both made at low" bc low makes each model to spec of whatever the brand wants so even if they are both made at low the internals could be completely different and they could be completely different scopes. That said the maven rs1.2 model is proven to be reliable with the testing out there (tract didn't do as well) and the reticle very nice for a ffp hunting reticle. A bonus is it's 26oz. I have two of them (6cm /6.5cm hunting rifles) and my 2 hunting partners have also switched to them. I could shoot them on low power fine but we are often shooting them at to 8-12x. You can get an even better deal if you have a govx account for military/1st responder with maven which is nice. Only real gripe is the zero stop with the set screws is kind of annoying and the illumination bleeds slightly but I never have needed to use illumination on a hunt so far.

Thanks for the feedback. I do like the weight on the Maven and they're 15% off now so the price is nearly a wash. Do you have any issue with no locking elevation turret?
No I don't think it's a big deal and really needed I hunt spot n stalk year round. Windage I might care more about as that side protrudes when my rifle is strapped to my pack but it's capped on the rs1.2. for 15% off id definitely pull the trigger. getting it at that discount means you likely will be able to get most of your money if for some reason it doesn't work for you too.

Here's another thread on it if you hadn't seen this already in your research
