The AICS 5.56mm magazines will accomodate the 2.5" cartridges with ease. Hope this helps and any other questions feel free to ask.

i'm pretty sure .223AI will work just fine. in fact i'm so sure that when news of the AI .223 mags was released, i did this to my .223 AI.

I did run the above calibers in the new magazines and they are feeding very smoothly and reliably.

I bet a 222 mag improved would net some impressive velocities with heavy bullets seated to 2.5"
