Max velocities with Lapua Scenar 6mm 105gr?

I'm thinking of loading up some 6mm Lapua Scenar 105 grain bullets for 243 Win and am wondering what sort of max velocities you've been seeing on your loads? With DTAC 115gr being somewhat scarce, the 105gr Scenar looks like an interesting fallback.

Got about 3000 fps with N550 at the max load (40.6 grains).

Hmmm, that would seem rather low given that DTACs are well known to reach 3100fps and moly'd DTACs higher still.....

My barrel has a twist rate of 1:9 1/8". It's just a stock Remy barrel.

if you are looking for DTAC's Tubb's sight has a ton of them.I also ordered 1K of the 105 scenars for a Tubb in 6 XC and one in 6CM

3000 fps should be no problem with the scenars

Tubb's site is currently sold out at the moment. Also, with DTACs running at >3100, I was hoping that people were driving their 105 Scenars faster than that to compensate for the reduced BC values when shooting out to 1000 yards. This is solely as an alternative to the DTACs to limit the performance degradation of switching to a Scenar. With a 105gr Scenar @ 3000, the DTAC blows it away performance-wise.

A 243 will get 3200 with Berger 105 vld. More bearing surface on the lapua slows it a little to 3100 to 3150 before showing pressure. Bill

Yes I /my gun prefers the Bergers. The Bergers have a higher bc, are U.S. made, very high quality, have won two National Championships at Camp Perry in a 243 in John Whiddens hands. What's not to like? Bill

What barrel length for 3200 with the 105's?

I stopped at 3050 with the 95's in a 26 inch factory Savage tube, or am I just being extra cautious.

Also been running the 95's @ 3030-3050fps , 42gr H4350, 6.5-6.8mil to 1k (200yd z).
