McGowan barrel

Has anyone tried a McGowan rimfire barrel ? My search keeps finding centerfire or a couple of very old rimfire barrels ( not a good report but over ten years ago )
The reason I’m considering them is I want an octagon for a project , GM is out of stock and McGowan will make them .

I've only used their center-fire barrels.


They're not generally top notch benchrest barrels, but out of the dozen center-fire barrels I've shot they were all capable of sub half minute groups with handloads. Granted, a good portion of them were br/brx chambered and it's hard to make one actually shoot bad.


If you need octagon they're your best option. For all out accuracy benchmark seems to be the top benchrest barrel in the rimfire world.

Could be, I know they have an octagon barrel but never looked into it.
