I bought a A4 for a 700long action that was thought to be for bdl floorplate but when I got it it looks like this :

I took some measurements and contacted justin at mcmillian. I know hes probally crazy busy and someone here might know this. Heres the measurements I got (no artist)

If anyone has any bottom metals sitting around they might measure it would be great help. I think its for a badger maybe but could be wrong. Help please.

I bought a used McMillan that was inletted for badger BDL bottom metal. Didn't know that at the time but the stock 700 BDL bottom metal was too small similar to what you are picturing.

Could that be a possibility?
 
So I started measuring and something wasn't adding up.

Then I re-read your post and realized you had a long action and mine is a short action…

So it turns out I'm not going to be much help other than what I already said which is the badger was bigger than stock BDL bottom metal.
 
Surgeon is the same length- rear by trigger guard is only .715

Why don't you ask Marty to send you an drawing for the m4 la inlet?
