do you think you would see any noticible difference in acuracy between the single shot 50bmg action compared to the box feed mcmillan action ? has any one got test data to compare? cheers
I do not have any test data to support it, but I believe the single shot is more accurate. I have used the single shot McBros action in 4 different benchrest guns (all RB/LP) and also in my prone/tactical rifle. There is very little speed advantage to the mag fed version, unless you are going to be on a two way range. In that case I would use a mag fed. I have been able to get 7 accurately fired rounds on target in 60 seconds with my set up. The Navy students are rarely able to do it any faster with a mag fed Mk15. I like to keep things simple. The mags on the McBros have been know to fall out under stressful situations. One reason Crane decided to make them a "fixed" magazine on the Mk15. Just food for thought.
