I have an FN SPR M1A With the dbm bottom metal.

Changing trigger and upgrading to the TBM kit from FN.

Currently the meat left between the trigger inlet and magazine inlet is the question.

I have not made any changes to the stock. I am the third owner.

The meat is approximately 1 inch long and from 1/8” to 3/8” thick.

I need to drill a 1/4” dia small 1/8” cup out for the new trigger mounting screw to fit.

How much meat in this area is critical to function?

Any help would be appreciated!!

I've purchased 5 inletted stocks from McMillan in the last 2-3 of years and none of them had meat between the trigger and magazine. So I'm guessing it isn't important.

wont hurt anything .I use a round file sometimes doing this.

Thanks for the help guys!! All information was spot on as usual. I did contact Mcmillan and they also explained the same as the posts ops have posted.

Got everything together today and looks like a winner!! Excited for the next range trip. Will be soon!!

Again many thanks!!
