Working on the butt end of a McMillan A3 that was originally rough finished.

What is the correct pitch angle of the buttpad relative to the boreline?

Rule of thumb for sporters is 83 deg - so I read.

Re: McMillan Stock Pitch

Because I am an impatient fellow I called McMillan and asked them directly - the funny part is they told me that someone asked that same question on Sniper's Hide today! Yeah, that was me.

The correct answer is....90deg to the bore line and comb, there are the same.

My belt sander awaits...
