2 bad questions:

If the stock is the molded in color, can you paint over that? How crappy would it look? Could you get rid of that coat without destroying the factory gelcoat?

I have a SPS-V that I want to put in a new stock.
If the stock is inletted for "bdl bottom inlet" or "badger m5", would that mean I need to buy a bottom metal or could I get away with using the floorplate I already have for the time being?

Re: McMillan stock questions

The gel coat has molded in color, you can opt for a solid base color and paint it, no way to "remove" it without going thru the gel coat. McMillan offers painted finishes as well, basic colors

I believe the bdl inletting will be very close you your hinged floor plate.

You can definitely paint over a molded in color. It will not look any different than any other paint job, as long as you do it right.

You need the factory bdl inlet if you are going to use your factory bottom metal. You can always have some one inlet it later for some other bottom metal as long as it is larger.
