Mcmillan TAC-300 vs GA precision build

Re: Mcmillan TAC-300 vs GA precision build

GAP is less expensive, while giving up nothing to quality. I would have George build me a 300WM exactly the way I want it vs buying a rifle in a predetermined configuration, but that's just me.

I've never owned a McM, but their actions that I have messed with are butter smooth. I would love a McM rifle, but I just don't feel like the extra cost actually gets me anything over a GAP, so I'll stick with George.

+1 I also have them both. Picked my GAP up second hand for 2k and paid nearly 5k for my Tac-300. Doing it again I would not hesitate to pick up another GAP, new or used and use the spare change for something more usefull. Granted my McM Does have a better action but thats nothing that cannot be solved now with GAP. Hell you could buy the MCM Action and have GAP Build it and still come out a bit cheaper.
