Have a MDT / Savage Stealth long action chassis, and ordered a 5 round 30-06 Magpul AC L standard magazine.

I noticed that it looks as if the mag is a couple of millimeters too short. What went wrong here?

(Measured both. This might help)

Magazine length OD lengthwise is 3.721"

Chassis magazine cut out measures 3.880"

My understanding is that the 110 BA Stealth chassis is made for 3.850 inch (CIP length) magazines, and Magpul makes their long action magazines 3.715 inch (standard length). You can either get the appropriate CIP length magazines or glue a 1/8” shim in the front of the magwell.

Note that 3.715” magazines are the longest you can get to feed with an out of the box Remington 700 long action, hence Magpul making that.

Sounds like another little gunsmithing project for this upcoming weekend...

I'll see whether I'll make a spacer for the mag or for the chassis.

Not dumping another $100 or so in another mag. :)

Went the other way, modified the mag instead of spacer in chassis. Didn't have a 1/8 alu spacer laying around, did have JB quick weld, so I went to town on the Mag. Only need 1 mag anyway, it's not a competition gun or something.

Works perfect, will just have to see if it holds up with use, but looks like it stuck to the polymer mag pretty good. (roughed up the surface and degreased before applying the JB weld.)

Made the mag length 3.870 and made the front a little wider, so there's no slop / rattle. Still drops free.

Would be great though if MDT came up with a chassis spacer like the KRG chassis...
