last several outings weve had a coyote run up behind us before dark or we had even started the call I think due to it hearing my dog rustling around......it let out a soft bark at my dog as I thought did I just hear that and no sooner my dog sticks her nose up as it was behind us and the wind was over my back and in her face so she barked..we never seen it only heard it do the barking within yards if us then running a ways off letting out two more then nothing..seen one in the trail on a walk out to a set but it bolted before I could even get the gun light on it.....as well we have had them howling within a few hundred yards but not show themselves...she was also sprayed by a skunk two nights ago and we had to deal with that as well…..then tonight we finally got this big boy to come out about 175 yards in some knee to waist grass to some Fox Pro come love me howls.........he then disappeared into some weeds so I hit the howls again and watched him walk into my downwind about 125 yards watched him stop for a wiff and hit him with some lead poisoning...…...I could see him bolt after the shot running south and he went about 40 yards from the shot impact point......by the time I got to the coyote Super Girl had a mouthful mauling it up....turned out to be a really big male...…next set the Coyote Light low batt light came on so I packed up a bit early and then seen eyes right after I put my pack on.....tried to regroup but he was gone before I could......either way my girl had fun and so did I!!!!

the first vid was a fly over that we haven't seen for a while but was in the exact spot I filmed the two big planes while pheasant hunting earlier this season...…..usually theres a search light working and at times they must see us with FLIR as they go right next to or over us....no light last night .....the second vid was one of the sets of coyotes that lit up close after I lit the Fox Pro as u can hear the Fox Pro go off right at the end......these coyotes were on the other side of the GOVT NO GO ZONE fence and they needless to say didn't come over for a visit....also i wanted to say that my shot last night was the first with the new Recon CT-1 carbon tripod standing and worked great with my REDNECK holder I made as I ditched the fixed mount not liking it as well and I prefer my piece I made where I can just grab my gun from the rest!

coons coons and more coons....she put 4 coons in separate trees in one field two nights ago and didn't bark once while I howled for coyotes.....we as well called and seen a bobcat about 2 weeks ago.....also called two coyotes in behind us about 125 yards a week ago they ran from the head lamp so I looked to the sky shut it down and as I came back down on them with the gun light there was only one left and he bolted on me into waist high grass before I could shoot...loaded a bunch of new sounds to my Shockwave after trying the old sounds way to long...I may also have to start a gofundme page for my dogs new vest the way she tears thru the (#&%_)(#_% things ...….still got two weeks left!!!

foxes foxes and more foxes.....she also caught this ground hog slippin in the back yard two days ago and she bayed him up so I could take care of that problem with the ole DIRTY HARRY 44 MAGNUM/Dan Wesson 22...…..then today I seen something had carted the dead ground hog off over in the field next to my house..... so I drug it back lodged it into a tree stump and tonight within two hours lit these two cat snatchers up out the back window of the crib...there were two when I took the first one and just had to wait for his accomplice to return...you find yourself in the wrong back yard round here & it gets extremely dangerous!!

started soaking my traps in distilled vinegar to get them ready to treat with trap coating.......i also modified three more of my #2 offset jawed Bridgers with 3/16" rods for the upper and lower jaws...these added rods make the trap grip in a wider area obviously but mainly feel more like an adult grabbing a childs wrist firmly to hold them....... ILO standard jaws which are like grabbing anyones hand with pliars and pinching....... especially with stamped sharp metal jaw edges from the factory......these mods also keep the skin from getting cut as easily if at all for animals that fight the trap more then some others may and helps prevent them from being hurt any more then necessary should i need to release an untargeted animal......Good Luck!

me and my baby been workin real hard on our trappin area getting it ready for some sets and some hunts..actually i work my #$^#% off while she chases squirrels and digs at animal ground holes..seen my first eagle swoop down and catch a fish from the lake about two weeks ago then seen another eagle leave the trees as we crossed the lake the other day and i got this one on vid.....it reminded me as well of the other two i seen at once out over the lake a few seasons back.....also chain sawed my hunitng stand out from under me so i could move it west 80 yards and cut it down in half for a remount...also got my last 15 new #3 Bridgers ready to go with full mods.....18 day countdown to coyote chasin

Mine made all forms of squirrel and chipmunk more or less extinct on the couple acres I had before I last moved. He'd bring them to the back door dead or dying with a big smile and so I'd pick them up with tongs and bring them to my dock because I knew there were a number of birds of pray swooping around the area. Eventually the pooch would sit and wait, watching for the neighborhood mini-pterosaur to fly down and grab it and when the bird flew off the pooch let off a couple barks as if to say, "I got that for you, buddy!". A little circle of life (and death).

went over to pick up my tools and take pics of all the places i will make my sets as they are made now other then the ground isnt dug and no traps no nothin...the sets just appear visually as they will when i do actually add my traps......either way on the way back i seen a hawk chasing an eagle and right as the hawk gets to the eagle u can see the eagle goes into a barrel role to expose his talons to the hawk.....AWESOME!

used the 4x4 half of 3/4 treated plywood i had left from my tree stand rework to knock down & crush an absolute $&%^& load of 10ft+ high weeds to open up area for coyotes to work my sets and to do night hunts as well.....also cleaned the high weeds up in the wood line as it helps seeing from the stand and i may even do a deer hunt or two from the stand....when i go over to check i should be able to stand where i took this vid and if i have multiple catches get them in the same vid if i can catch them anyway:cool:

first set last night i played some rabbit then one lone howl and didnt see anything other then the buck we had spooked and run off walking in.....i go out and get my call put my gear in my pack....before i go i turn my headlamp back on then make one last shine before i put my pack on..well there he was right out in front of me about 70/80 yards....soon as i seen eyes i shut the headlamp back down bent down picked up my rifle pointed it up lit the gun light and brought it down on him and as soon as the light hit him he bolted i didnt even get him in the full beam.......he ran which i couldnt see about 200 yards south of us then came out of the knee high weeds and into the path i wanted him in originally.....stood there for 30/40 seconds while i tried to get my tripod back out but then ran another 200 yards away stood there about the same then was gone before i could get it together and was to far then anyway for a real shot........after it was over i realized i had turned the gun light up to full blast and shouldnt have and that i hadnt called even close to long enough and impatience got me and i blew it twice.......we go to another spot and i see a coyote real close to the road as we walk out and he bolts as soon as he seen the headlamp...we called didnt see anything and walked back to the truck......i start putting my gear in the truck and hear my dog bolt as fast as she can run towards something as i cant see anything in the pitch black because i disable my interior truck light & bed light during hunting season.....so i get my headlamp back out real quick and shine it along the wood line next to the road and about 250 yards down there is a set of eyes i which then watch run back across the road and could tell was a coyote......i couldnt believe it and think it was the one i seen as we walked in to call...........today on our first trap check my baby new there was fur waiting as we crossed the lake.............we had this male in a snared trail set......we also had a foot hold set off at another set....time to regroup get some more trap sets in and then go hunting again tonight......YEAH BABY!!!!!!!

caught #2 poodle poacher this morning.....its been raining and i am glad as it will help with the SUPER dry dirt problem most trappers im sure have been dealing with trying to bed their traps and the rain should end after tonight..........went over Sunday night and called a coyote in where this one was caught today but i couldnt get the shot i wanted to take....played the rabbit for a few sequences then one lone howl....he was there within two minutes after...he meandered around in the brush watching the decoy for a few minutes about 60 yards away right by the decoy but wouldnt come out as i want them DRT in this spot as i dont want my dog to have to chase them onto property i dont have permission on and it did come within 20 yards at one point as it finally seen my dog after i let her begin to move.... he was gonna leave until it seen her but i just couldnt shoot.... then he finally got spooked from me moving im sure and being so close to us and left anyway..i tried one last time with red fox distress and he came right back to the original spot i seen him BUT as soon as the red light hit him this time he left immediately and i let it go at this point..also seen a coon working one of my sets 15 minutes later before we left from calling so i had my dog chase him up a tree before he got caught...been fun so far but i think i may have to ditch my red lights & get my thermal scope sooner rather than later!
