So, to get the most out of a given cartridge, how far do you go as far as ogive measuring and grouping projectiles together and weighing brass and forming groups? for consistency.
I have 338LM loaded up with 300 smk running at 2860fps average with an SD of about 6 fps and .4 Moa at 100 yards.
I ran it out to 1200 yards and was easily center punching 12" squares. At a mile I was able to get some consecutive hits in a row on a 24" round.
I feel like I have a good recipe, but I was thinking of ogive measuring and weighing brass, to try to eliminate a flyer at ELR ranges due to inconsistency.
How close do I want them to be to call it very consistent? My brass, Lapua, BB15 stamped, weighs about 339.x grains? some are 335.x grains. How close should that be?
How close should the ogive be?
I'm not going to change cartridge or components at this time.
Thanks,
Scott
