I found one other thread on this and the OP didnt get much feedback on the mercury reducers. I have some steel shot i could add but i thought the mercury deal could be more beneficial. I really hate to add weight to the stock but i would like to reduce the recoil without threading the barrel for a brake.

Thanks for any help.

Re: Mercury Recoil Reducers

Sorry about that.... I guess that would help the cause wouldnt it. The rifle in question is a rem 700 in .308. The stock is the plain old HS precision synthetic that came with it. I have the buttplate off to replace it with a grind to fit limbsaver so i thought this may be a good time to look into this. I would assume you would want it as inline and parrallel to the bore as possable to keep a straight back recoil. Given the stock size and shape though it will be a little below the bore line from what i could tell.

Re: Mercury Recoil Reducers

I put one in an Over and under skeet gun, worked fine, too good, I had to take it out. The gun had a single trigger and used the recoil of one barrel to cock the hammer for the second barrel. The recoil reduced reduced the recoil so much it wouldn't cock the second barrel.

Delta P Design has been working on a Rail weight system. Allows you to tailor the weight on guns with rails. Mostly for .338 or .50 but open to anything with a rail
