Mexican soldiers detained after crossing into South Texas

DONNA, Texas (AP) — Almost three dozen uniformed Mexican soldiers are being processed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection after four Mexican military vehicles crossed the Rio Grande near McAllen.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman Nina Pruneda says ICE and Customs and Border Protection agents are interviewing the soldiers after they crossed the international bridge about nine miles south of Donna. That's about 15 miles southeast of McAllen.

In a statement, Pruneda said no other details were available. News reports from the region say four Mexican army Humvees carrying 33 uniformed soldiers crossed the bridge without authorization.

Maybe their coach promised them Sno-Kones if they won?

Re: Mexican soldiers detained after crossing into S TX

Oh, but wait...I'm sure it was an "accident" because they somehow got "lost".

Re: Mexican soldiers detained after crossing into S TX

Help me out on this:

A) They really were lost
B) They were escorting a load of contraband - and if that was the case how is it that the Mexicans were detained but we have no info on the 'load that got away'?
C) They were chasing after someone - same - why do we not have any info there?
D) They are probing the boarder for their Uncle Hugo when China and rest of the 'reds' springboard through that joke of a line we call the boarder.

In short - it would seem to me there is more to the story.

Can anyone more local tell us about that area? How remote is it? How much scrutiny does the BPA give it?

Good luck

Re: Mexican soldiers detained after crossing into S TX

They were headed for San Antone to take back the Alamo.

Re: Mexican soldiers detained after crossing into S TX

That area is not that remote. And no way in hell they could have got lost. Bridges are very well marked. but alot of drug traffic is heavy in that area. they were probably running interference (sic?)

Re: Mexican soldiers detained after crossing into S TX

Our soldiers cross over there to get laid. The Mexican soldiers do a similar thing.

Everyone in Mexico knows the south Texas steers are a better lay. The Texans broke them in properly.

Hell, Captain Kick-Ass had to change his name after getting caught with a steer wearing his chaps.

Is anyone else wondering how you carry 33 troops in 4 Humvees?? That math doesn't seem to work right?

Cargo/Troop carrier varients...
2 up front (Driver and TC), 6 in the back (plenty of room)=8 per truck. throw 7 in the back of one and you have 33.

(funny thing, type in Mexican Army Cargo HMMWV into Google, and you get this...only need 3 of these...)

There is a good reason for mexican soldiers coming across the border..............they heard AFT was having a gun sale.

Only 33!?!?!

With four HumVees I expected at least 100. Must have made room for gear and water.

Re: Mexican soldiers detained after crossing into S TX

Burnsie apparently you are far from our borders. Hell they could have got 33 Mexicans across the boarder in a 63 VW Bug, comfortably!
