Along with a new caliper, scale, and press i am wanting to add a micrometer as well to my reloading tools. I'm sure it wouldn't get used a ton but being OCD about brass and reloading I do want one. I did do some shopping already but would rather hear from those who reload and have actually used one. I would prefer it to be digital and under $150.

I've got a vernier micrometer and the only thing I use it for is measuring the base of brass at the 0.200 line to determine how much it is expanding and getting sized. Every once in a while I'll use it to compare lot to lot variation between bullets to see if one is fatter than another. Works better than calipers by far for those two options. For other stuff it's just too cumbersome and I use calipers instead.

I have a ball micrometer I got for measuring brass neck thickness, never use it. Much easier to just load a bullet and measure the neck OD with calipers.

As far as how fancy, I would say not very fancy at all. Mine is just a RCBS plain jane model I got on sale for like $20. Works great.

Pretty much go to MSC and pick out what your budget can afford. I've used them for reloading tools as well as torque wrenches and various tools for setting up gears for cars. You can pretty much find whatever you want there, although, they may be a bit pricier than you like.
