I have come across a couple of these rifles and wondered what is the value of them. What barrels were likely used and what quality is the actions on them. Know the McMillan stock is top notch but just wanted others opinions on the matter.

McMillan rifles from the early to mid-90's were produced by a man named Harris. I have forgotten exactly how Harris came to control the gun-making part of McMillan but seem to recall that he wasn't supposed to have been using the McMillan trade-name. In the end, McMillan took him to court and regained wholly the rights to the McMillan brand.
Anyway, I did have a Harris-produced McMillan bolt-gun from around '94-'95. It was okay, shot well, but (by today's standards) was a bit roughly finished. I have no info as to the maker of the barrel or action. I don't think it was any better or worse than a 40X from that era.

Shot a Navy-owned Late-80s-early-90s McMillan 300wm prone, long range Wimbledon Cup type rifle. Pretty nice and used McMillan action, barrel and, I believe, Jewell triggers and Leupold 16x M1A Ultra scopes.

Yep, all of the ones I saw (first-hand) were McMillans. I believe the Harris- prefix was added after the court decision so that Harris could maintain some brand integrity as he transitioned to Harris Gunworks.

I just got one that was built in 1988. Has all original paperwork with it. Any idea of the quality or value of a McMillan from this era

There is a McMillan 300wm very similar to what I shot in the Navy on GB for $2350. If I didn't have RWS building me one I would be on it.
