With the bushnell deal going on, where does the xrs rate among other mid teir optics? Other competitors I see are razor gen 2, mk5, atacr, etc. You dont hear much about the bushnells outside of the lrhs for a good budget option.

What and where is this Bushnell deal?

I ordered one. I was going to get a Razor Gen2, but the kestrel and scope combo deal was way too good to pass up. Even if you end up not liking it, you can still sell it and get a new optic later.

I have 02 HDMR2 Bushnells and 02 NF ATACR, glass, turret feel, and cool factor is all subjective. The Bushnell scopes have slack in the turrets the ATACRs do not. It has never caused me an issue. I use them for competition. I Lobe my ATACRs, but wont buy another. They are not worth double the price of the Bushnells. Hope this helps.

The new XRS II is very nice. I get to use one every now and then. It tracks, the glass is great and I like the locking diopters and windage. I own an Athlon cronus and I feel the XRS II is slightly better on glass and about the same on turrets. We would be splitting hairs to say one over the other. Similarly, any advantages over the Bushnell if any from the other options would be minimal IMO; especially with the Kestrel.

Good glass, good features, old reticle. I'd just as soon have the SWFA HD 5-20 at the $850 memorial day sale price. Of course I have no use for the kestrel, so if that does anything for you, then maybe it's a better value.

How are those scopes ranked with each other in quality and optical clarity?
I’m not real familiar with Bushys any more

I've had them side by side with Razor Gen2s and 4-16 ATACRs, and to my eyes the Bushnells at least hold their own, if not outright beat them both. At the same magnification range, I could see far more detail on an overcast day with my XRS2 than my buddy's 4-16 ATACR, and the image was brighter. Same with the DMR2 Pro. I also prefer the turret design and reticle on the Bushnell models, and they're noticably lighter than the Gen2 Razor 27s.

Ken said in the official GAP thread on the deal that you can call or email him to request other reticle and color options, and they can get it for you in a week or so.

I just hit him up yesterday to switch to the Tremor3 reticle.

None of the Bushnells in the GAP deal are illuminated. Keep that in mind if it matters to you at all.

Illumination is not important to me really. Mostly for target shooting and matches. So it is going to be used in full light.
