Mike Rowe says what I have been saying for ever.

I could vote him into office.
Dude would wear work pants to work and get stuff done instead of a suit and martinis with lunch.

Outcome would be the same as Trump, get brought down to the idiot lifetime politicans level (too many of them) and ge beaten with thei rpolitical experience every time. Got to drain that swamp first before a good person can be effective.

Guy doesn't know WTF he is talking about. I got my Bachelor's in Peace Studies with a double major in Social Resistance from an east coast ivy league university. I have $100K IN student loans that I'm about to default on because you (mostly white, male) pricks don't realize the contributions I can make to your "businesses" . From my mom-n-absentee-dad to my babysitters Kim Kardashian, Bruce-ette-Jenner, to MTV, to the great leaders at MSNBC, Barrack-let's-just-call-him-what-he-is-the-fuc%ing-MESSIAH-Obama and the Second Cumming-Hilliary Klinton you have all promised me that I deserve instantaneous suck-sess. It's my right! So fuc% you buddy- I'm no "tradesman" . I am the Elite! Hear me roar. Or something. [Rant off].

Was spot on. I think a large part of the problem is that people go to college with so little experience of the actual workforce in anything. People obtain degrees without the slightest clue of what the work they're earning a degree for entails. I also agree with him about the skilled tradesmen. Somewhere along the line and maybe it was parenting idk but somewhere society started to demonize skilled jobs as something beneath them or not good enough, which couldn't be further from the truth. There is a scene in Good Will Hunting where Will goes on a rant about brick laying and how it's an honorable job that comes to mind.

There's also the fact that when your hobby becomes your living it's no longer a hobby. It's no longer enjoyment. It becomes work. I was always told to go into CIS or something technology related because i enjoy building computers, reading about architecture, etc. Which truthfully didn't make much sense because i loathe software. Hell deep down i love farming have wanted to farm for some time. It's peaceful to me. In the same essence i'm not a mechanic wouldn't know where to begin to have all the knowledge my dad does when it comes to running a farm. I thought for a while that i had been stuck in healthcare because i was always told to do so. At some point i came to the realization that i enjoy and am decent at it.

My brother is contemplating healthcare (he's a sophomore) i constantly try to reiterate to him that he needs to get out and shadow. See what every day life is like before you commit to something that is going to take up this much time and money.

Mike seems to corner the market on common sense . He would make an excellent SCOTUS pick but alas if he had thequalifications he would have some measure of indoctrination .

If our future is dependent on today's crop of collage kids we are absolutely fucked as a nation. My company was part of a huge renovation at a collage dorm for the Collage of Charleston which is not some cheap junior collage albeit it is mostly a liberal arts collage. Some of the students were still living in the units we weren't working on and when you would pass these brain dead idiots in the halls or elevators and say "hey how are you doing today" they couldn't hardly put a few words together for a response. Some of them would look at you like you were speaking Chinese others would would be like "uh what um I guess ok" They had the social skills of retarded monkeys. I remember thinking wow this what we are turning out these days......man we are screwed.
