Im entering my first Sniper competition next April and I need a Mil dot scope to fit on my TRG. We have to do our own rangefinding using our scope reticles. I cannot afford a NF or a S+B. Is there any mid price scopes that you have experience with that I should consider?

Re: Mil dot scope Recommendations

Bushnell tactical mil reticle/mil turret 3 x 12 $700) or
Nikon Buckmaster 4.5 x 14 mil reticle, moa turrents ($300).

Put them on a 20 moa picatinny rail.

Re: Mil dot scope Recommendations

I can vouch for Nikon glass. My Buckmaster glass is one step below good German glass. I have shot with it at 1000 yards and was amazed at the focus and clarity of the bullseye I was aiming at.

How about the Bushnell Elite 4200 FFP or the Vortex Viper FFP PST's will be out soon as well. You can get either of these for under $800. Call Scott at Liberty Optics. Tell him your a member of the Hide he'll take care of you. I have a Nikon and the glass is great but if your going to do a sniper type competition you'll want something that has the tactical turrets and is built tough enough to maintan zero in all conditions.

Re: Mil dot scope Recommendations

+1 on the Nikons quality, but I dont own one anymore because most of them dont have all the features I would like.
HUGE +1 on the Vortex Viper PST, I am one of the lucky few, and I am loving it! it has made things very easy on me.
I also use several Leupold Mk4's, love them too. One piece of advise if I may, get the newer style reticles(TMR,EBR1,ect.) the traditional MILdot is good enough, but the reticles mentioned make the milling so much more precise, and hopefully this will translate into better shooting. Good luck!!!

Badshooter is right. The SS is the best value out there. Search for Lowlights review...its all good. There is also a Hide discount of 10% and if you hurry there is a 10X HD on the sample list http://www.samplelist.com/SWFA-10x42-SS-HD-Riflescope-DEMO-B-P100.aspx
