Does anyone know what kind of rings come with the LRS? First, are they any good? Second, what kind of base will I need?

I think they are the extra-tall Millett Tactical rings. Everyone says they are too big (regardless of your action). There are a few companies making 35mm rings but they are all somewhat expensive. Seekins Precision are my favorite at about $200.
I went with an EGW 20 MOA base.

I have a set of 35mm TPS medium rings on my LRS on a 700 action. Perfect height for me. Cost me about $110.

TPS offers a great quality! The three brands that folks seem to recommend the most for the LRS are TPS, IOR and Seekins.
I have also read that, for those people mounting this scope over a 20 MOA base (on a bolt gun), the low rings tend to work best. Though we all know that height variations amongst brands makes the choice a difficult one.

Vortex also makes a 35mm ring in a 1.26'' height for about $140. Those should also do the trick for you and are a pretty nice quality ring set without breaking the bank.
