I recently. Bought a millet trs-1 tactical 4-16 mil dot. Overall, a really nice scope. Solid, accurate, keeps a good zero. But i want to know if this is just me or if everybody thinks this way about it.

Re: Millet trs-1 review

I don't. Mine that was supposedly hand selected for the match I won it at is at bushnell right now getting repaired. Right out of the box the illumination didn't work on setting 4. I mounted it and tried to zero it and the adjustments were very erratic, nowhere near the .1mil they were supposed to be. Then within 30 round on a 308 gas gun it was all over the place and both the Windaus and elevation adjustments got very stiff. To top it all off I had to pay shipping to bushnell AND send a $10 check with it for return shipping on a brand new scope that came right out of the box defective. I've had similar problems with Millett in the passed but I gave them another shot. Next time it will be ebayed while it's still new in the box. I've never seen a halfway decent scope that came out of china.

Re: Millet trs-1 review

So far mine has been ok. With a 20 MOA base it bottoms out on elevation, which effectively gives me a zero stop and lots of up clicks, but makes me wonder about it a bit. I haven't shot with it much, but so far return to zero is fine. The windage clicks are positive, but the elevation seems indistinct. The optical quality is considerably poorer than my Leupold, but, then again, it cost a lot less.

For what I paid, I can't complain, and it allows me to shot a rifle at range that would otherwise be waiting for optics.

Re: Millet trs-1 review

I don't have any experience with the TRS-1, but in light of what redneckbmxer24 said about illumination, the illumination on my DMS-1 has always been intermittent on the brightest setting. One of these days I will send it back to be looked it.

Re: Millet trs-1 review

I own one, The reticale is canted. Sent it back twice to Bushnell. They did nothing about it. A waist of $300.00 I could of put toward a better scope. It is now a dust collector. I would sell it but my concision would bother me to much. I would not recomend them to anyone with the experiance I have had with them.

Re: Millet trs-1 review

ive got a millet 4-16 buck gold, and its ok, had i known then what i know now i would have spent a little more and got a vortex, this one has been fine on my lar-8, returns to zero, clear class for the money. no problem yet.

Re: Millet trs-1 review

I have a 4-16 buck gold, I was surprised by the optical quality, not that its amazing but its better than I expected. The adjustments are repeatable. The reticle is thicker than I'd like, the "clicks" on ele and win are consistent in function but not tactily or audibly so you have to pay more attention than you should. The parallex knob makes mechanical/binding sounds but works. It is almost comically huge and it is heavy. I suspect this scope will not last forever, but for now its doing what I need, until I can justify what I want.

Re: Millet trs-1 review

Have a Buck Gold, too. Started out fine. Good glass, clicks weren't as positive as I like, but it tracked accurately. Parallax adjustment was a bit touchy (one hair would lock on but the other wouldn't without some finesse) but never having used one before I figured it was just me.

I used it for awhile and then started running some load tests. Groups were getting erratic and unpredictable. Started to look like a problem with the scope.

Finally got may answer in the middle of an OCW. Aim at one target and hit the adjacent target 3" away. Tried again. Same thing. The damn thing jumped zero and on a low recoil .204 Ruger! Shot the remaining rounds and it printed .4". Sheesh! Can't trust the scope anymore.

It's going back to the factory. Replaced it with a Viper PST FFP. Ran the same tests and all was right with the world. Should have bought the Viper in the first place. Couldn't be happier.

Re: Millet trs-1 review

I purchased a TRS-1. Had it mounted, When boresighting at 25 yards The gunsmith noticed it to have a haze or was just cloudy.
Took it to the 100 yard range put it on 10x even cloudier.
At 16x forget it.
Called the dealer and was told, " since it was mounted, I Must send it to Bushnell for repair".
Now sent to Bushnell for repair and was told 5 to 6 weeks.
This is horrible. I sure hope Millett will repair or replace it.What a waste of time and money.
Quickly ordered my 2nd. Mueller APT.for the weekend. That is a good Chinese scope for the money.
Next stop $800 to $1000?

There's no good chinese scope for the money, china makes crap optics, the millet should have been a lesson for you. Probably only a matter of time before it fails you too. I have no experience with the APT but I has a tactical and a eradicator back in the day and they both died in short order and the glass was horrible. I have no idea why they get such good reviews, but for whatever reason it must be the same reason people give the sorry excuse for a scope millett good reviews.

The only chinese scope I would consider is the centerpoint 4-16 at walmart. It breaks at a good rate too but atleast when it does a 20 minute trip to walmart gets me a new one.
