Best after market extractor out there.I had 2 installed by Greg Tannel ( Gre-Tan Rifles )
he does excellent work quick turn around and is honest.
I build my own rifles and can`t install them as good or as fast as Mr.Tannel.

Greg is great to work with, but moding the R700 is a pitiful idea. Read Layne Simpsons article on it.
I have had every type of extractor I have ever used fail me at one time or another, except two. Mauser 98 and Rem 700. Much of it was ammo related, but fail is fail. The m16/Sako extractors are among the worst. Rem is about as good as any. When you modify, you lose the gas sealing ability, lose relibility, spend money, void warrenty and risk eye damage. Poor idea.

For $200ish you can have a one piece PTG already cut for it, and you can get it any diameter you want.
Problem is you may have to re-headspace, or possibly enlarge your bolt nose counterbore.

Thanks for the responses. What does the modification wind up costing? Seems to be mixed reviews as to the benefits and sounds like a fair amount of smith work is required.
On a separate note, has anyone beefed up their stock handle by drilling, tapping, and adding a screw or two?
