Thinking about impulse buying one of these. Is a little less than $2600 a “go” price on a new one of these?

Think I paid a little more than I should have for my 525, has me trigger shy on the next scope...

Ordered.

They are on sale at Optics Planet Here for $2850 and a 10% off code is on the front page, brings the total to $2565 shipped. There were four available, now three left.

I bought mine from OPlanet for about same price on sale and it shipped from San Antonio 3 or 4 days later from Blazer (USA) which is the US importer I gather.

Made me fill out some ITAR compliance form but no biggie.

Ahem,
You guys should be going to a supporter of the hide, we do our best to meet or beat anybody's price. Especially on Minox...
Email me an actual screen shot of the total including what they charge for tax and shipping and I'll see what i can do ;)
Sorry I was out of the office yesterday with a sick kid, or else I would have addressed it then.

Order canceled with Optics Planet and placed with CS Tactical. Thanks!!

The main problem with these types of posts is that it can put a dealer at risk at losing a vendor, I understand that people want a good deal but Dealer's also want to stay in business. For example, calling us we're happy to answer any question. If we happen to give you a good deal on something than it's best to keep it private and take advantage of it. Nobody wants it to get to the point where no dealer risks going under MAP even privately at risk of being cut.

This is why I always add an “ish” when I get PMs asking me how much I pay for stuff.

Also, after a few interactions with optics planet, I’d rather give a hide vendor or a local shop a $100 or so more and have it on time and without hassle.

I got a similar deal on a minox from optics planet. The Itar form was a shenanigan in of itself. Then they put a signature requirement (which is fine) but without telling me. I also paid for overnight shipping to get it before a weekend match. When I asked the next day about shipping (during the Itar debacle), they said it was overnight, but took 2-3 days for processing. Took an hour to make them understand when I pay a premium for overnight, that doesn’t mean three days later.

If in no rush, and if one can wait, how much can these be had for more less, if a sale or deal popped up?

Very well said

Just a heads up on the Minox ZP5 for those who don't know, Minox's prices has increased MAP $200 and dealers cost the same amount this year compared to previous years. So those who paid significantly less before this year does not reflect the current price structure.

Well I just received a ZP5 from CST today and paid more than the prices being discussed in this thread. Do I feel like a sucker - no (I saw the OP deal). Will I deal with CST again - absolutely. I'm a small businessman and empathize with what it takes to run a small business, and I don't begrudge these guys trying to make a penny. Further, this is the 2nd scope I've bought from CST and the customer service in both cases was excellent. I was a pain in the ass to Richard with my deliberation and questions (days of debating and multiple calls), and he was always courteous and professional. Thanks Richard. The scope looks phenomenal!

My pleasure! You were no problem at all :)

Guys you really should go through CSTactical. Brian Lopina let me look through his Minox at Dog Valley and CSTactical had one in my hands as soon as they got one in. Less than a week I think it took (I think I got lucky tbh). It shipped the same day I paid.

Did the units you guys have received recently have the hard bump in the turrets second revolution?

Depends on what you are calling “hard bump.”

The older models were pretty hard. The newer ones still have quite a bit of friction going into the second rev, but it’s manageable to still land where you want during the transition.

No way around it on a minox, you’ll get some resistance going into the second rev.

Are you shooting elr and need to go into 14+ ??

I have never worked with CST, but I have worked with OP and I can assure you just from the stories here that you can make a big upgrade in customer service by switching from OP to CST.

A buddy has just had issues with OP changing requirements on him and asking him to jump through all sorts of hoops.
I don't even look at OPs website anymore, far to many bad reviews out there, especially when there are so many good vendors and especially the great vendors that support the Hide.

I have not needed the extra mils yet but I plan to! The one I received recently is pretty stiff and it is a challenge actually dialing to that 14-15 mil. With the force required I tend to over dial once it gets past the hard spot. It’s not worth a three month trip for servicing and I read another guy had his returned with the hard stop anyway lol.

Shipping from Optics Planet is S_L_O_W. I'm glad CS Tactical was able to take care of me. They shipped out the same day I ordered and I have the tracking number. It should be here early next week. Optics Planet had sent the ITAR form to me which was helpful in allowing me to cancel. No idea why they think they need to do this when shipping within the US, but one more reason not to use them and instead go with a hide vendor.

Every scope has trade-offs in one area or another. I'll take the glass and recticle quality and put up with resistance on the turns if I ever need to dial that high which will probably be rare.

that is always a smart move. If you don't buy your Minox from us, you found the second best place on the 'hide, and CS is a lot of fun on Instagram. A bigger concern is: why were even looking at the other site you mentioned, whose name shalt forever be spoken not ? Lots of good reasons to call a friend.

Now, I cannot speak of those of whom we shalt not speak, but I can say that when you don't actually have something that you are selling, and you are shopping it around to see where you can find it, do you think a great distraction is to send a form to a customer to fill out, and buy yourself another two or three days? Not sure.

2nd best? I'll take it...

Optics Planet is a vendor I’d never use again due to their backorder, late (or sometimes never) policy.

CS Tactical is not only a Hide supporter and vendor, but he’s someone that is pleasant to deal with an has integrity in his dealings. Personally, I’d rather pay a higher price to support CS Tactical even if there’s someone that offered a better deal. Having said that, Mike has always at least matched his competitors prices and I’d gladly go to him again in the future.
