I was wondering ( as my Thunderbeast Ultra 7 is still in jail ) about how many slow fire at the range 308 rounds would it take before the marage starts to take effect through my scope if there is no cover on it.
The reason I ask is as soon as I get it I will want to shoot it and wont have a cover. I would hate to take a few shots and then wait a long time for it to cool off before I can see through my scope.
From what I understand these things heat up fast. I wll be looking through my S&B pm2 @25X
Wondering the same about my Dead Air Mask ( also in jail ) shooting 22 rf standard vel match ammo
I really don't want to order a cover until can is in hand
THANKS in advance

When I shoot a 10 shot group with the can with 3-4 minutes between each shot I notice the target starts to dance around shot 8. If I shoot them fast it can be boiling in 5 shots. Only way to know is to test it for yourself and the effect of the mirage can change on a daily basis with the wind.

With that said I have used my cover 2 times ever and those were the first two times I had it. It hasnt been on the can since. They are just a nuisance to me. The armageddon felt crap on the inside gets chewed up on the omega asr mount and its a pain to get the cover on without tearing half of the felt out while locking the asr. On a can with a smooth back it may be much more enjoyable.
