I recently picked up a Centurion Arms VLTOR VIS DMR, which uses the MK 12 barrel. I've tried 69 gr SMK's and Varget so far, I've managed .78" or so groups with this load. I'm planning on picking up some 77 gr Match Kings and I just picked up some TAC.

Is there anyone else shooting this setup? Care to share any experiences or suggestions? I'm still pretty new at this and am picking up little by little.

Re: MK 12 & SMK's

i had bad luck with 69 smk in my bcm mk12, and varget is horrible with any bullet. This is pretty rare, 77 smk and ~24.0 varget is VERY standard. No loads with tac yet, but that would be close to the mk262 clones around.

Re: MK 12 & SMK's

My Mk262 clone is with 24.9gr of A2520. Consistently 2680-2690 from the 20" barrel. It's a little long compared to the true Mk12's but the gun shoots very well and I'm not going to chop it down to recover 2" of overall length.

Re: MK 12 & SMK's

I use a mk12 mod1 with Win or LC brass russian primer and 24 gr Ramshot TAC. It is sub .5 moa to 600 yards at times and always sub .75moa if no wind. I do not find it to be temp sensitive as to POI from 0-80 degrees. I might use a 1/10 mil correction per 40 degree change. I have fired about 7500 of these rounds year round.
