Hey guys-
Searched the subject pretty thoroughly with out a whole lot of luck. I've got a MK II BTVLSS I'd like to build as a trainer for my 10FLCP-K (that will eventually find its way into a T1 or T4) so tactical type stock would be ideal.

I liked the price of the Tacticool from Boyds but missed the whole "left hand stocks for right hand actions" at first.

So the other options I've found are..
Tactical from Stockade $235-375 (assuming they inlet for said action)
MTR from SSS $225
Wallis Forge $265+

The last 2 are wood where as Stockade's offering is composite.
Still undecided between having it painted professionally or trying it myself.. but will figure in a minimum of $125 for paint either way.
There is a budget that is mostly reserved for optics but a stock that will last is a concern as well.

Does anyone know of any other stock choices? Or have experience with any of the vendors listed above?

Thanks

Re: MK II left hand stock choices

Its listed lefty but the reply I got from Boyds yesterday morning went like this-
"Tacticools are for Right hand actions only. We are supposed to have some back on the shelf late this week."

Re: MK II left hand stock choices

I didn't see anything at Richards that got my attention.

Has anyone purchased a stock from Stockade in the "money saver" form? Thinking I could save some $$ there and roll it into paint..
Thanks

http://www.wallisforge.com/ may be able to make a stock for you thats who did the stock for my mk II but it is right handed. This was also before they had the tacticool stock from boyds.

Re: MK II left hand stock choices

If you are going to paint the stock anyway, why not just buy a right handed tacticool and cut out the left side to match the right. Then fill in and shape the right side. After paint, you'd never know.

The cutouts are easy to mirror, I did it on mine in about 45 min with a quick set of templates. The dust from the dremel is kind of nasty, so be aware. My preferred filler was some generic Bond-O. Doesnt seem to have hurt at all.
