Mk12 Mod1

Saw a quick clip on TV today just showing some random shots of soldiers/gear, etc and saw a Mk12Mod1 with what looked to be one of the 'newer' cantilever type mounts and couldn't see what optic it was.

Did they ever get away from the ARMS 2 piece ring mount, or was this just an individual upgrade?

For some reason I just never liked how they looked, but was curious if something new finally caught on or if something was changed/updated.
