Anyone know what scope it uses? I know it's some kind of NightForce and I believe its the 3.5-15 model but I don't know which Objective diameter and whether its the NXS model or F1 model. Thanks

It's the 3.5 - 15 w/ zero stop, Side PA, mil-dot reticle and MOA knobs, kinda looks like this.

    Re: Mk13 Mod 0 scope

It's called the USASF scope, and has 1 MOA adjusted turrets, 50mm objective.

Now they using the FFP F1 model, so yes the are 3-15x

    60MOA per Rev on those.

It's 50/50 whether NF will sell the exact model, the reticle is not a standard NF reticle.

    Re: Mk13 Mod 0 scope

I don't understand why they have a mildot reticle with moa adjustments. Does anyone know why they army is so stubborn? I don't see any advantage to using MOA with a mil reticle.

Thanks for the quick responses Lowlight and doc!

Gods if you are listening...please let NF come out with a 5.5-22X56 F1....pleaseeee

EDIT: WOW LL it just dawned on me 60 MOA per rev is a TON...That's pretty much the Mod 0's effective range in one turn. Seems like almost too much...

Because it's easier to stick with 1980's technology and training doctrine than it is to use what works better and teach a new method. The term "When I went through sniper school....." resounds through the instructor cadre. It's like talking to a brick wall.

    Re: Mk13 Mod 0 scope

It's interesting how many people want mil-spec equipment and rifles and stuff used by military personnel. But honestly after everything I've seen I think there's a TON of people out there with better weapon systems and gear than the stuff used in the military. Even LL's training videos seem to be more practical and useful than an Army or Marine Scout/Sniper Manual. I noticed there was a lot of the same "if it works don't change it" attitude when I worked for Army Research Labs. Kind of a shame. Thanks for the responses. As of right now I think I'm gonna save up for the 5.5-22x56 NXS unless a 5.5-22 F1 comes out before then. Thanks for the help doc and LL

LL, I believe that reticle you are speaking of cannot be released due to NF's self imposed restriction; and if I recall correctly the only place I have seen it is in one of your posts? Is it possible we could see it again; if it isn't too much trouble?

    Those look like Mod 5s.

I never saw the Mod 0s, but I do know the pre-MK13s from Crane originally had 16x Ultra M1As. Seen pics with NF NXS 3.5-15 x 50s.

I just picked one up a NF nxs 2
5-25×50 f1 reticle is a rangefinfinding reticle that goes up to 1000yds and there are circles under the reticle crosshair to represent 18in which is the avg upper torso minus head the turret is set up for the 190 smk and you just get distance and dial that distance into the turret example 100yds 200yds 300yds etc.. its illuminated and zero stop picked it off a navy seal that wants it back
