MKII BTVSS and BTVS

Is there any difference in the BTVSS and the current BTVS besides the color of the stock? I prefer the gray BTVSS but do not want to purchase it if it is inferior somehow to the BTVS since the BTVSS is no longer produced or listed on Savage's site.

Just a different color stock as far as I know... It's a savage... It will shoot nice tiny little groups for you as long as you feed it good ammo!

Another option is to buy the FV (cheapest heavy barrel option) and then get a replacement stock from Boyds or elsewhere...

I just realized, am I going to regret not going with an AO scope? I figure the chances that I am going to go out farther than 200 are slim. 100 will likely be 50-100 will probably be my primary ranges for this puppy...

I use my AO when shooting at all kinds of ranges, since it can focus down to 30 feet and out to infinity.

For targets at a unknown range you can even sort of use it as a range finder - fiddle until it is in focus, check the distance setting.
