So, if sentencing courts have no say in voting rights, they can have no say in ANY rights, hence all felons should be fully able to acquire and own firearms?
Of course, this cannot be the case because The Constitution is Unconstitutional in MN and only criminals have rights….

Just remember that of all 50 of our states, MN is the only state that has ALWAYS been a blue state. As far as rights for felons goes, my opinion is simple. Once you do your time and you're a free man/woman, all your rights are restored. Period!
Many persons are convicted of second degree murder, and are out in 15 years or less. Do you believe they should be given their 2nd Amendment rights back? How many repeat offenders would you trust to own and buy firearms?

I don't care if the crime is 1st degree murder in a state like SC where the minimum sentence is 30 years. If you do the crime and do your time, you get your rights back. No exceptions.

Felons can get their hands on guns just as easy as drugs. If they are still a threat to society, then don't let them out on the street.

They should have the right to defend themselves like everyone else.

The laws concerning removal and reinstatement of ALL rights are state laws. And this is a state constitutional question. This has nothing to do with US Constitution (not yet, anyway). The reinstatement of rights, according to the judge, violates the state constitution. It will play out in MINNESOTA Supreme Court.

If we had a functioning justice system and effective capital punishment for violent offenders, then I’m all for restoring all rights, including 2A protected ones. But if you think for a MINUTE that someone who murders or rapes someone and spends a few years behind bars has “paid their debt…” and deserves their rights back — they don’t even deserve their life back, so HELL no on that score.

Unless they were wrongly convicted (which is not uncommon in our broken system), they should feel fortunate to be alive, but they never have legal access to a gun again.
