Rifle Scopes MOA altering scope rings…..do they impair brightness? If not, any preferred brands/models/options to consider?

My scope rail is integral with the receiver and i was hoping to extend distance capability.

I am considering purchasing MOA altering scope rings as I can’t change the rail on this rifle.

The 30mm Burris XTR signature rings in low should fit fine as they measure 0.41 inch from the rail to the bottom of the scope tube….this should still afford me enough space for a scope cover and they’re not too expensive.

Sometime in the past i seem to recall reading a post that suggested MOA altering scope rings might make the visual field darker….assuming one's eye remains properly in line with the optical axis, is this correct, does it make sense?

Also, any other brands, models or options i should consider? thank you

Whoever suggested that doesn't know what he's talking about. Rings that incline the front of the scope downwards do the same exact thing that inclined scope bases do. I've had inclined scope bases on several rifles over many years and have never have any negative effects on the image seen through the scope.

I've been told the same thing.... but from a slightly different angle. That when you put too much moa in the mount then you are zeroing at the limits of the scope adjustment and it makes things darker,- maybe that's what you are talking about? I don't know if it really does or not. I've seen some ELR rigs with crazy amounts of moa built in (to the point that it looks like all they would see is the barrel) so it must not be an issue.
