...I am not sure which forum to post this question in, but it seems to pretain to ELR shooting as much as to optics per se, so here it is...

...the scope in question has the P4L fine reticle and will be mounted upon a .338 Lapua...

...the rifle as supplied is made with no elevation, but has a 30 MOA rail available an option...

...will this be needed/useful for 1000-1500 yard shooting, or will it unduely compromise the rifle for closer ranges...???...

...the S+B 5-25x56 PMII/LP scope has 56 MOA of elevation adjustment...

...we will probably be shooting mostly 225-275 grn bullets...

...the rifle will be equipped with a 26" barrel with a 1 in 10" rate of twist...

I use the same scope on my 338LM with 20moa base and have no problem getting 100m zero with enough elevation in the double turn to get to 2000 meter (from elevation point of view)

good luck

it dipends on your setup and what you are shooting at but I dont believe you are going to shoot a 338LM over 1800 meter which is also a lot for this caliber
whats your setup barrel length, projectile mv?

I have a PGWDTI Timberwolf (.338LM) with a 40MOA base and an S&B PMII 3-12 P4 reticle and I have to use the hash marks to get 100 yds.

My minimum zero is 400 yds.

...who, me...???...

...well, the rifle will have a 26" barrel, but it is not built yet, so I cannot provide any ballistic data...

...I would expect to be shooting 250 grn bullets at about 2800 fps, although I do not know what bullets we will be using...

...I am thinking of trying the SMK and Barnes X bullets first, though...
