My Surgeon action has a 20 MOA rail and I have a Spur 20.5 MOA mount. With my present scope sighted in I have 6.5 mils from my 100 yd zero to the bottom of scope travel.
If I take this setup to another rifle that has a 30 MOA rail, will I be able to reach a 100yd zero?

I dont want to be at the max lower scope travel and still be 3-4 inches high at 100yds.

Thanks

Thanks

Any way to tell if zeroed how much travel I would have to the bottom of scope travel? Trying to figure how far from max bottom point to where my 100yd zero is. I think I need a mount with less moa built in. Gun is at the gunsmiths and trying to figure out if I need to get a different mount on order.

Re: MOA rail + MOA mount=

If both rifles shoot the same load, and the first had 6.5 mils left when zeroed, the other with the 30 MOA rail (in a perfect world) should have about 12.3 MOA left when zeroed at the same distance.

Re: MOA rail + MOA mount=

typically you can't use a mount with moa built in and a 20 moa or more base, geometrically it doesn't work, at least thats been the case with a nightforce 20 moa unimount on a rifle with a 20 moa base. could be different with your setup,
