Gunsmithing Model 70 re-barrel.

I have a Winchester model 70 in 300wm that I’m considering a barrel/caliber change. I’m assuming that whatever I choose will have to be a long action chambering. The 7 Rem. Mag. seems obvious but my long range rifle I shoot is also in 300wm and I’d like something a little less punishing. Any thoughts? I would like this to be a flat shooter also. Maybe for varmint hunting but not sure. I reload so ammo availability isn’t a major concern. Thanks

Just looked up the specs. That may be just the ticket! Same parent case so I can use the same bolt. Thanks for the advice!

You can always download to mitigate throat erosion!, just depends on shot range.

264's are underscored and they shouldn't be. First one I ever did was about 12 years ago. That weekend the guy went out and killed a local match with it. They don't exactly treat the barrel all that nice when firing sustained, but if your a hunting rig then its prolly not likely to be used all summer at 500+ rounds a month.
