MODERATOR - Sig lines

Re: MODERATOR - Sig lines

Kraig, you old jackass, you're sight must be going!!!
If you look under the star you'll see your jump wings!!!

DP425,
They're not "unnatural acts", they're just acts that aren't well thought out at the exact moment, for the most part.

Re: MODERATOR - Sig lines

I know this isn't the original topic of this thread but it fits. What are the rules on lude photos in signature lines? I've seen a few here that are large enough and "wouldn't show my Grandmother" enough that I have to be awfully careful surfing the forum in public. I would love it if those kinds of things could be kept out of signature lines. I don't care if they're in threads for that purpose, but I hate having to scroll slowly to police signature line content when I'm in public or around my family when the thread is about spin drift or something like that.

Not sure who you're quoting there, but they are wrong- AR 670-1, 29-17, b2 states:
"Combat badges have precedence over special skill badges within the same group. For example, if an individual is authorized to wear the Combat Infantry badge and the Expert Infantry badge, the Combat Infantry badge is worn."

That does not give any choice to the wearer- doesn't get much more clear than that- the combat badge will be worn.

I tried to let it die, but if you wanna play occupy wallstreet on this thread then fine.

You don't know near as much as you think about Army Regulations. You're also a douche bag. You attack someone that is asking a question, about Stolen Valor no less, without contributing to the actual thread. I respected the members of this site, and actually took some advice. YES, it probably would be better if there were no badges, awards, or decorations in sig lines... so, I deleted mine. Good advice. You however, continue to quote 670-1 and ask me to prove regulations. Check it out numbnuts, Army Regulation 670-1 is over 5 years old. The regulation doesn't even cover most of the uniforms that we wear today. Wear and placement of badges on the combat uniform has changed at least twice (that I know of) since it came out. Do you actually know where the new ACU, MultiCam, ECWCS, and ASU regs come from? Didn't think so. Besides individual FMs for each piece, they mostly come from MILPER/ALARACT messages. MILPER/ALARACT messages have already modified over 50% of the 2006 AR 670-1, and you're high as shit if you think that I'm going to search through them just to prove you wrong. The Army is in the process of fielding a new AR 670-1, but as of this moment it is not official.

Oh, and the comment about Sniper School blatantly ignoring regulations... Yeah, I'm sure that one of the biggest schools on Ft. Benning, The Home of the the Infantry (and now Maneuver Center), with the spotlight of TRADOC shined on it (not to mention a fucking TV show) is blatantly disregarding Army Regulations. Especially in this day and age when a damn General can get fired for saying that president of Iraq is wrong.

Also, the whole argument about "there is something to be said about being a quiet professional." I feel like you wouldn't respond well to yelling or cussing or berating, so if you're not sitting then go ahead and take a seat, and I'll explain this to you barney style, like I explain things to my 4 year old. THE "Quiet Professionals" HAVE A TAB. It's the second biggest tab in the fucking U.S. Military. Tabs do not equal stupid, ignorant, assbag. That's where you messed up. Thanks for the "critiques", but no thanks. And to quote "angry ranger," I'd love to shove a trash can lid in your dickhole and moon walk across it.

So, when you want to tell someone that they're wrong by quoting a 5 year old AR in a fast changing Army... keep your mouth shut.

Oh and Desert Punisher... Can you tell Grandpa William and Aunt Lela merry christmas for me

BTW, if I had to guess, I'd say that you're probably National Guard Military Police... just a guess, and feel free to correct me. No insult meant, but sometimes MOS describes why people act the way they do

Re: MODERATOR - Sig lines

OK, guys, enough.

I know a lot of young men who never got to wear their decorations, regardless of what they were.

Let us have respect for them and end all of this adolescent braggadocio.

Those to whom we owe the most, speak the least.

You don't know near as much as you think about Army Regulations. You're also a douche bag. (first indication you're about 24yrs old and still think childish name-calling on the web some how proves your masculinity) You attack someone that is asking a question, about Stolen Valor no less, without contributing to the actual thread. Here's your contribution- as "stolen valor" currently stands, it is an unconstitutional violation of free speech; so no, you can wear whatever the hell you want. Until the supreme court decides to take up the issue, the law has zero teeth. Just google it and you can see the various district court rulings striking it down. I respected the members of this site, and actually took some advice. YES, it probably would be better if there were no badges, awards, or decorations in sig lines... so, I deleted mine. Good advice. You however, continue to quote 670-1 and ask me to prove regulations. The regulation doesn't even cover most of the uniforms that we wear today. Wear and placement of badges on the combat uniform has changed at least twice (that I know of) since it came out. (three times if you want to include the initial ACU issue calling for OD tapes and patches) Do you actually know where the new ACU, MultiCam, ECWCS, and ASU regs come from? This is mostly entertainment value for me anyway. The Army is in the process of fielding a new AR 670-1, but as of this moment it is not official.

Oh, and the comment about Sniper School blatantly ignoring regulations... Yeah, I'm sure that one of the biggest schools on Ft. Especially in this day and age when a damn General can get fired for saying that president of Iraq is wrong.
Sniper School is likely one of the smallest schools on Benning- easily eclipsed by OUST, BOLC, IBOLC, Ranger, Airborne, Air Assault, Preranger and potentially RSLC depending on if you want to look at initial class size or finishing class size. Likely larger than pathfinder and jumpmaster, but not by any sort of remarkable amount. As far as authorized wear- as I said before... just because it exists and is over-looked in one location does not make it authorized.

Also, the whole argument about "there is something to be said about being a quiet professional." I feel like you wouldn't respond well to yelling or cussing or berating, (you feel correctly- that's how ignorant privates are dealt with... and I'm long past having any desire what so ever to deal with ignorant privates. THE "Quiet Professionals" HAVE A TAB. SAPPER? Okay.... It's the second biggest tab in the fucking U.S. Military. (What is? Sniper? Forgetting about President's Hundred, Honor Guard, Special Forces? Or are you saying the only quiet professionals are SF? Unfortunately, more and more these days the later does seem to be true- too many running their mouths, bragging about what they likely haven't done, plastering stickers all over their cars- makes me sick. Thankfully our community has mostly stuck with the "quiet professionals" mentality.) Tabs do not equal stupid, ignorant, assbag. (they do when they don't actually exist as a wearable item) That's where you messed up. Very impressive

Have you even been in as long as the current publication of 670-1? Maybe it's just your style of writing... but you strike me as about 23, maybe 24. Sometimes writing can be misleading on age, but more often than not you can get a pretty good grasp on it from the way they put thoughts to paper- that is, assuming a basic, acceptable level of education and effort.

So it wasn't enough that you made yourself look like a kid fresh into his 20's and full of angst in the last post?

"Can you tell Grandpa William and Aunt Lela merry christmas for me ;)" Oh gladly- You must be the only person in the entire world having to spend their holidays away from their family- and me, sitting nice and comfortable back home... should certainly be able to take sometime for you. You sound like a 19yr old private angry at his friends because they went to college. No one really cares that you aren't home except your own family; most of us have been there plenty of times ourselves and don't care to hear the tired old line.

MP? What lead you to that conclusion? It really couldn't be more wrong. But, since I wouldn't ask you to detail your career on the world wide web, I won't be doing it for mine- may not matter to you... and that's fine. But it does to me.
