I'd like to try some of the newer powders Varget, Superformance, and Aliant's Power Pro 2000.

Calibers I'd like to use em in are 6.5X55 Swiss, 7x57,both with lighter bullet weights, and heavy bullet loads 22/250.

Any thoughts, comments, sarcasms, welcome.

Re: Modern Wonder Powders

6.5X55 uses Power Pro 2000LR, which I have not tried. I shoot 308 and have used the 2000MR. Velocity was higher than Varget at the same / similar pressures, but accuracy was not as good.

I guess you could call Varget a newer powder, but it has been around a while. Its main benefit is temp sensitivity.

Those cartridges are a little esoteric for here. Most folks here use .223 and its variant, the 6.5 grendel or variants of the .308 such as .243, .260 Rem, 7mm-08, etc., .284 WIN or 6.5-284, 30-06 with some variants, 7mm Short Mag (various), 300 WIN Mag, 338 LM, .375 CT, .408 CT, and .50 BMG.

That seems like a long list, but in the big scheme of things, there are a lot of cartridges preferred by hunters that don't get tons of play here such as the .270, the 22/250, 204 Ruger, etc.

Re: Modern Wonder Powders

My jug of Varget is not only temp insensitive, but it matches perfectly to Quickload predictions.

I reload ~ 60 cartridges, but the last I have worked with:
1) 7mmRemMag
2) 45/70 reduced case capacity cat's sneeze loads
3) 270
4) 260
5) 223
6) 6mmBR
7) 257RAI

As a result, I am really into H4350 right now.
