How does ar500 steel hold up to copper projectiles? Pass thru on game is significantly better with copper solids. Calibers that could be used range from 6mm to 338. Am I going to ruin my steel targets by practicing with copper bullets? I have plenty of traditional bullets, but i do have some Barnes LRX and was looking to maybe try the Hammer Hunters in a 300PRC.

Up close they'll do more damage, but if your plates are 200-300yd or further away you're not likely to hurt anything. Splash, paint chip, and noise are dramatically less with solids vs. lead core, by the way.
