Well it rained, rained again, and rained some more. 5 to 6 inches on most of the ranches this past weekend and it was a muddy sloppy mess. We stuck it out and gave it our all and the Aoudad were rutting hard regardless of the weather. I got a message Saturday night from one of my clients saying they hit a big ram (CDP Ranch out in Terlingua) but it threw itself off a cliff (happens often) and hopefully they could recover it in the morning. Long story short they did recover it but the vultures did get to it a bit (sorry for the graphic photos). This is probably the oldest ram ive seen, check out all his battle/horn rubbing scars and his horns already bleached out. He was broomed off easily 3 inches on each side and still went 31inches and had 14 inch bases. A darn fine ram in my book and Congrats to the Ducote's.

While they were out in Terlingua I was on our ranch on the Devils River and we connected with 3 nice rams on day one (these guys could really shoot!). After a long night of adult beverages we woke up the next morning to find a group of Aoudad less than 300 yards from the front porch grazing, I couldnt resist and got in on the action too!

I will let the guys post there hunt report and harvest photos here but all in all 5 great rams down and another great weekend.
Mike
