Defunded!
Searched but didn't find where anybody had done this so:

Did a refresh on my early MPA 455 chassis (BA, BA Hybrid???), replacing the old buttplate assembly with one of the new-style assemblies. Saw then that the new style backing plate has no holes drilled above the topmost strut so you're not going to be able to raise the buttpad height (there are holes drilled inline with the top strut so you can actually raise the pad a little if you use it angled to the left or right).
When taking the action out of the MDT XRS that I was trying out, I saw that the buttpad profile and hole spacing is exactly the same for the two chassis. Bolted the MDT adjustable assembly that I had on the XRS onto the MPA backing plate and ended up with this:

You'll need this MPA assembly on your chassis (with or without the threaded center strut) if it's not already equipped: https://masterpiecearms.com/shop/short-lop-recoil-plate-assy/
And this from MDT: https://mdttac.com/mdt-vertical-adjustment-buttpad/
So pad is now tool-less, quick adjust for vertical, and you can tilt the pad to either side if you slide the pad out of the way to access the mounting screws. Don't have a scale handy so can't tell you how much the pieces weigh all together. Don't know if this will work with the Matrix.

That’s pimp. I just flipped my MPA pad upside down. Your idea is nicer. Reminds me of Cadex easy adjust.
