The D controlled House and Senate and Progressive Governor, Jared Polesmoker, signed into law a bill to de-fang LE and IMHO tie Cops hands behind their backs.

I wish I could link that but I can't. Maybe someday I will learn how to but I doubt it so do what you can on your Googlefu.

They are very proud of themselves and saying shit such as,"Colorado is the first State to enact sweeping reform in Law Enforcement."

I really don't think there was very much to any thought, if any at all, as to the repercussions down the road, behind this Law, and I seriously doubt it will stand up in Court, but they are all feeling good about themselves and patting each other on their popos.

It is very poorly and quickly written and I feel certain that any lawyer worth his salt will tear this travesty apart in any Court of law.

There is NO way I would want to be a LEO in the state of Colorado now and would have no animosity towards any that throw their Badges on the desk and tell them Fuck You, the juice is not worth the squeeze.

I think it's a hard time to be LE anywhere. POTUS is too cowardly to put down sedition, mayors, govonors, and DA's are in on it, so it falls to police to decide if America is worth saving, or just let it go.

The bill allows a person who has a constitutional right secured by the bill of rights of the Colorado constitution that is infringed upon by a peace officer to bring a civil action for the violation. A plaintiff who prevails in the lawsuit is entitled to reasonable attorney fees, and a defendant in an individual suit is entitled to reasonable attorney fees for defending any frivolous claims. Qualified immunity and a defendant’s good faith but erroneous belief in the lawfulness of his or her conduct are not defenses is not a defense to the civil action. The bill requires a political subdivision of the state to indemnify its employees for such a claim; except that if the peace officer’s employer determines the officer did not act upon a good faith and reasonable belief that the action was lawful, then the peace officer is personally liable for 5 percent of the judgment or $25,000, whichever is less, unless the judgment is uncollectible from the officer, then the officer’s employer satisfies the whole judgment .

Cloward and Piven - overwhelm the system.

This is a give away to ambulance chasers.

Was living in Bailey,CO.
1/2 Park Country Sheriff left,,Park Country got real stupid, blaming Deputies for something. Wasn't their fault proved later
They all went to Denver , and else where.
Their pay almost doubled.

My Grandfather made me swear not to follow family tradition.
He carried a blackjack I'm his back pocket
He wouldn't hesitate to use it.
LEOs are getting a bad rap,,99% are grey.

Anyone know if the CO constitution has anything on bearing arms? That could be an interesting argument under the new bullshit laws.

I have long been an advocate of the Police, policing their own ranks, and they did not do that due to so many factors such as diversity, female hiring, the list goes on, and at the top of the list for me is A failure in the Top End that prevented the rank and file from doing what needed done.

The list is long as to them investigating themselves and could find no wrong doing. and Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder could see through that BS but they thought anyone with a brain couldn't see this shit storm coming? ie,--- A no knock, forcible entry, shoot an Old Mexican man in his bed with a Diet Coke can in hand that the Officer thought was a gun---And they were at the wrong address.--- Everyone of them walked and still on duty or retired? But Pedro is dead and the Cop still working or retired? That is just not right! but time flies by. I remember, and that is but one case where heads should have rolled or been in prison or--- clean up your own ranks.

They had the chance to do it themselves, as was done in the past, but they failed, and now some others are going to do it for them but not in a good way.

I have a dog in this fight as my oldest Son is a LEO in that area and I don't know what to say to him??? I don't know how to advise him and that makes me very sad.

Do you have to know when to hold em, or when to fold em? or know when to walk away and when to run???

There is NO RUN in my Son and I am Proud of him for that, but, I would be just as Proud if he told them, FUCK YOU, and turned in his Badge.

Honestly Foul Mike, I would encourage him to quit or find a department that supports their officers. He can always go to college or school to start a new career. It sucks, by why be thrown under the bus constantly for doing your job. Why take the chance of ending up in jail for life because of politics.....

Too cowardly or smart enough not to take the bait?

Let these leftist democratic run shit holes burn themselves to the ground so anyone on the fence can see exactly what they will be voting for.

All Trump has to do for his campaign ads is just run footage of all this shit and simply say at the end........."If this is the America you want vote for Biden"

I don't see how Trump can loose and I don't believe for one second any poll that has Biden ahead.

I want to write this as a current LEO in Colorado. With that, I understand I will get some negative feedback, but that's ok. That's one thing about this country that is so great. I respect the fact that everyone (whether it's on this feed or any other person) has the right and freedom to express their opinions. I encourage it. With that being said, I agree with some of the things being said in this feed, and I disagree with some as well. I think one of the important things, is that peoples are coming together to have discussions and communicate. That is one of the only ways quality solutions can be attained. Does some things with the new legislation make my job harder, yes it does. But do some things make sense, yes they do. But that's not the point.

One of the points, and one I think is very very important, is that at the end of the day, good people want to do the right thing. No matter what profession we're in. Being open to communicate with all people and every side, is critical. Communication is key. On all levels.

I'm just a Deputy on the street. I do not hold rank within my organization, but I can tell you from first hand, one of the best ways to solve problems and help people at all levels, is to communicate. Good people and good cops, are out helping others every day, by effective communication to solve problems. Communication on all levels is essential. People don't have to agree, or even like it, but that doesn't mean we can't have effective communication. That's just my two cents. Thank you to the folks that take the time to read this.

I really hope this shit doesn't spill into WY. I have a feeling that law enforcement will be greatly reduced due to these new laws. It's like the D's are trying to turn the USA into one giant Gotham City, and letting the inmates run the asylum.

^^^ Who knows. But one thing I learned when I was younger, from a baseball coach of mine is, "Control what you can control". That has always stuck with me. A lot of things are out of our power, but if we focus on what we can control, that's all we can do.

Colorado has a pretty strong amendment for bearing arms. Open carry state, shall not be infringed, etc... it doesn’t matter. The magazine ban is unconstitutional according to Colorado law, but it doesn’t matter. The Denver/Boulder corridor runs the state. To hell with the law, f*ck you’re feelings and all that.
