Mossberg .338 win mag range?

My Dad got a new 338 win mag for his birthday to use as one of his hunting rifles, he has a 308 and a 30-06 and a 45-70 gov and others to many to list. But back to the question he has been trying to find out what the rang for his 338 win mag is. Thanks for any help you could give me.

Depends on bullet and velocity, but it could reach out to a mile or beyond with the right load and more importantly (shooter).
