I live in a small town in the South that’s still mostly White , probably 200 or so Blacks that have families here , that chose to stay here. Then the onslaught of Hispanics that followed the chickens that Tyson and others own. Now town is almost evenly populated with Whites & others …mostly from below Mexico. We have a long time resident that’s Black , highly dinky dau but harmless. He picks up cans , sings loudly anywhere , to outsiders he looks weak and challenged so to speak.
A few days ago he was walking through the Wally’s parking lot and a car full of south of the border teens started hassling him. Within maybe 2 minutes three local grown White men saw and heard what was happening. They literally ran the punk fuckers down , cornered them until a White cop got there.
Some small towns take care of their on , as they did with Tom.
You won’t read about this , nor will it be reported anywhere.

I would like to hear both sides of this story. I don't know of any place that doesn't have paid docking these days, esp. near popular attractions. Was it an issue of navigating a waterway or was someone in the wrong spot? There's more to this. And if its its "public"docking, they had no reason to move. If it was private docking and small boat shouldn't have been there - you get authorities, which usually stick a fine on the offending boat, hire a tug to move it and send a bill to the owner.

Where it really went sideways was part 2 when several black guys came back for more, and started to rip up the boat which really kicked off part 2, and one of black men proceeded to hit two women who appeared to be trying to break it up, with a chair. In the video I didn't see either of the women swinging or kicking anybody. In my opinion it was pretty clearly a racially motivated incident.

What we don't get to hear is the dialog from the beginning. Maybe the black guy was being a complete cockbag to the white guys about moving their boat, and that's what made them tell him to get fucked and not want to move. If someone's being an asshole to me, i'm not gonna do what they ask because they're an asshole. Maybe they were a couple drunk 'bruh' types, and were just being dickbags when the black security guard asked 'em to move their boat, we don't know. That doesn't address whether it was public or private docking. What were the notices publically posted regarding docking, who could dock there, and what did they say about "illegally" docked boats? Did it specify "customer" docking? If so, are definitions of "customer" posted? Do they need to be on the premise of the business? Was an attempt made to find the owner of the boat and how was this done? Regarding reference to "employee" - who was he an employee of? Was the man an employee of the business who may have owned/paid for the dock, the dock itself independently, the Harriot II, or other? Was this about the actual dock space or about navigation past the docking spaces?
If it was a private dock and the small boat didn't belong there, he absolutely could have had a right to move it, depending on local and state ordinances (although he should have got authorities involved at the first sign of confrontation). If the business owned the dock, and it was listed for "customers", was the definition of "customer" posted?

That's why they are called docks. What if the smaller black pontoon boat was filled with handicapped/disabled or mentally challenged people that have difficulty getting to a different distant dock? Facts matter. I'm not saying the smaller boat wasn't full of racist d*cks, that should be fined and warrant being charged, that's totally possible. It's also possible the dock worker was choosing which boat he like better and "deserved" closer access. But we don't know the facts - that's the bigger issue here and how it is being presented. I'm also curious what passerell the bigger boat had.

Those of us on the interwebs get to see a cell phone video from across the water, and overhead, with no context, no dialog, and no witness statements, and draw our own conclusions about what happened. We support one side or the other, and hate the opposing viewpoint....sounds like a tuesday on the internet.

This is a local story. Private pontoon boat was tied up in space designated for restored, paddle-wheel riverboat Harriott II. It's tourist attraction that belongs, or is leased, to the City of Montgomery. Captain of riverboat called for over 1/2 hour on loudspeaker for owner of pontoon boat to move. Riverboat employee was carried to dock by another boat and moved the pontoon boat a short distance along the dock to allow riverboat to dock. Employee was attacked by folks from pontoon boat. 13 arrested night of incident and released pending investigation. Multiple arrest warrants issued today with one person already turning himself in and others have made contact with LE.

Someone commented about privileged white folks paying to dock there. City owns the dock/space where the riverboat docks. Most riverboat passengers were black. Pontoon boat folks are white.

Years ago we had a murder locally related to a boat ramp incident. Race was involved. Took many years to go to trial. Apparently many knew the truth all along but no one said anything. I do not recall a lot of details.
What I do recall was how a seemingly trivial boat ramp incident got someone killed and someone sent to prison.
Glad I’m not a boat enthusiast!
