Mount options

I have an R700 Short Action that I want to mount a 34mm scope to. The issue I have is I loathe picatinny rails.
Yes I have rifles that use a rail but if at all possible I want to avoid them. Are their options that mount directly to the receiver?
I figured someone here would have the answer ?
