MPI Stocks

I tried the search function and couldn't find anything on MPI stocks out of Oregon. Does anybody have any experience on their products. I have the opportunity of one hell of a buy and was wondering their quality. The stock I am looking at is one of the Remington 700 classics in the BDL. Its going to be a lightweight rifle for hunting. Anybody have any reviews?

They have made two custom stocks for me for a Marlin 30-30 lever action. They were great to work with. My stocks are great quality. I think they are good people.

They had a bad rep a few years ago....something about built out of popsicle sticks, not sure how the current ones are.

They specialize in light weight stocks. Lighter means less of everything. That being said I have used many of them and have had no problems. They are just not as robust as you're used to seeing and require more work in the finishing room.
